SERVICES

We welcome all people – young, old and in between – to our worship on Sunday mornings at 10am.  We acknowledge that we meet on the land of the Kaurna people.  This is a time to connect with God and with each other.  Holy communion is celebrated once a month.  Please stay for morning tea which follows the service.

On the third Sunday of each month at Temple (the Henley Beach site) we have a more informal 10am service, sitting around tables café style in the hall.  Please arrive early to make sure you have time to get a cuppa and cake before the service starts.  Different arrangements occur in January.

Baptism and Thanksgiving

The Christian church, from its beginning, has baptised people to mark their admission into membership of the worldwide Christian community.
Baptism by water is a sign used by the Church to point to the love of God for all creation. It is a visible act, instituted by Jesus Christ, in which a person is celebrated as a beloved child of God.

In baptism, we welcome people into the family of faith and we acknowledge God’s gifts of life and love. As one of the sacraments of the Uniting Church, we baptise both children and adults as recognition of God’s love for us from birth. Baptism takes place as a part of our regular Sunday morning service at 10am.
If you want to enquire about a baptism, please contact our minister Rev Christa Megaw at christamegaw@gmail.com or ring 0400 830 483. Before the baptism, you will need to meet with the minister and a person from our pastoral care team to see if a baptism or a thanksgiving service might suit you and to answer any questions you may have.

In the Thanksgiving service, we thank God for the gift of a child and pray for God’s blessing on him or her.  The Thanksgiving service is preferred by people who want to present their child and have them prayed for, but who want to leave it to their child to make their own decision about baptism when they are ready.  It is also sometimes preferred by parents who feel they cannot in good conscience make the promises or statements required by the baptism service.

There is no charge for having a baptism or thanksgiving at the church.
